Last week I got to drink beers and talk mandolins with Kym Warner. He’s not only an incredible player but he’s also an extremely nice guy! Many of you may know Kym from his band The Greencards but he also plays mandolin with the songwriting legend Robert Earl Keen. Kym absolutely crushed it at the Charleston Music Hall playing along to crowd favorites of Robert’s, along with playing some old standards that are featured on Robert’s last release “Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions” (which Kym also plays on). It was a great evening of music.
Last year Kym released his first solo album “Everything That Brought Me Here”, and it is stellar. I’ve spent the last week re-listening to it and each listen draws me in more and more. It literally could be the soundtrack to a movie. It’s a great listen and I highly recommend checking it out! You can pick it up at any of the sites below:
I just left the Robert Earl Keen concert in Arvada, CO. I had the pleasure of sitting in the front row and witness Kym’s amazing talent and love for music! LOVED his performance! So fun to watch!
